It could loop through West Midtown and Atlantic Station to Lindbergh or Arts Center. It has not even been mentioned, but I think extending the green route should be a priority. Ditch the streetcar stops at Carnegie at Spring and Luckie at Cone and add one at the top of the new Broad Street boardwalk. Stops are best placed for rail and bus transfers, city growth, and city engagement. The red and gold lines travel north and south, and the blue and green lines travel east and west through Atlanta. Streetcar and rail stops needs to be placed strategically so that It might cost a bit more money, but I think the difference of combining all the currently proposed light rail into one line would be significant. However, I think it is unlikely that MARTA runs all the light rail lines as one route. I like how people can potentially get to downtown from the Beltline without having to transfer. ![]() For the downtown streetcar to be useful, I would recommend giving it total traffic light priorirty and possibly making Auburn and Edgewood one-way streets with a streetcar-only lane. This is one of the pros of Beltline rail, but unfortunately the streetcar is far too slow in city street traffic. The streetcar needs dedicated right of way. Who knows when the rest of the light rail line will be finished? 2030? 2035? With the speed cities change, these plans may be implemented far too late to be of use. The Clifton Corridor won’t be finished until 2026.
